Overview
As a Community Outreach Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies to promote the Care Masters program. You will act as the primary point of contact for community members, organizing and leading outreach efforts, and working closely with the Engagement Coordinator to identify new opportunities for engagement. This role offers a chance to make a tangible impact on the communities we serve while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As a Community Outreach Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing outreach strategies to promote the Care Masters program. This role offers a chance to make a tangible impact on the communities we serve while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute outreach strategies to increase Care Masters program visibility within Black communities.
- Serve as the main point of contact for community members and participants, providing information, support, and resources.
- Collaborate with the Engagement Coordinator to identify outreach opportunities and foster community partnerships.
- Lead and manage outreach efforts for quarterly in-person events, including coordination and logistics.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of contacts and outreach activities, ensuring accurate records of engagement efforts.
Required Skills
- Prior experience in a similar role within a non-profit, grassroots, or social services environment.
- Familiarity with outreach tools and platforms for campaign management and communication.
- Demonstrated experience in community outreach, particularly within Black communities.
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in managing and executing outreach campaigns, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Comfort working remotely, with occasional travel required to attend in-person events or meetings.
- Strong understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by Black communities, with a commitment to supporting and empowering these groups.
Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Social Work, Community Development, Public Relations, Communications, or equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education may be considered.
- Proven experience in community outreach, particularly within Black communities or underrepresented groups.
- A demonstrated track record of successfully engaging diverse communities through outreach programs or initiatives.
- Proven ability to manage outreach campaigns or projects from planning to execution, including tracking results and reporting outcomes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with community members, stakeholders, and local organizations.
- Experience in planning, organizing, and executing community events or engagement activities.
- Strong knowledge of the challenges and issues facing Black communities, with a passion for creating positive change.
