Overview
As a Program Coordinator will oversee the successful implementation of a youth development pilot program in Erin Mills/South Common. This program aims to empower youth aged 12-17 by fostering social, emotional, leadership, and academic skills through mentorship, tutoring, and creative workshops. The Coordinator will be responsible for managing program logistics, recruiting and supporting tutors and mentors, coordinating resources, and aligning activities with the organization’s mission and goals.

The Coordinator will be responsible for managing program logistics, recruiting and supporting tutors and mentors, coordinating resources, and aligning activities with the organization’s mission and goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Design and Implementation
- Develop and lead a pilot youth development program that integrates academic, leadership, and creative elements to achieve positive outcomes.
- Ensure all activities are culturally responsive and tailored to the needs of youth participants.
- Resource and Logistics Management
- Coordinate venues, supplies, and materials for program activities.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director to manage program resources effectively.
- Volunteer and Mentor Engagement
- Recruit, onboard, and manage volunteers to support program delivery.
- Coordinate with professional mentors to deliver motivational and educational sessions.
- Academic and Creative Program Coordination:
- Oversee tutoring and academic readiness activities, including scholarship preparation for older youth.
- Support creative workshops designed to engage youth in self-expression and skill-building.
- Community Outreach and Marketing
- Promote the program through community outreach and marketing initiatives.
- Work with the social media team to enhance program visibility and engagement.
- Evaluation and Reporting
- Monitor program participation and outcomes to evaluate effectiveness and inform improvements.
- Prepare regular progress reports for the Executive Director and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, community development, or related field
- [or equivalent experience].
- Experience coordinating programs, including managing resources and logistics.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to engage and support youth in academic, leadership, and creative development.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with community stakeholders.
- Knowledge of academic preparation processes, including scholarship readiness, is an asset.
This is a hybrid position. Applicants must be able to work comfortably in-office twice a week in Mississauga.
