Fundraising Assistant

The Fundraising Assistant will play an important supportive role in donor stewardship, event preparation, research, and internal fundraising systems. This position is ideal for a youth interested in nonprofit work, communications, community engagement, or project coordination. The student will gain experience with administrative processes, event logistics, creative communications, and the behind-the-scenes work that strengthens a charitable organization.

Position Type: Temporary, Full-time (30 hours/week, hybrid)
Hourly Wage: $18.25/hour
Start Date: June 1st, 2026  (8-week placement)


Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Administrative Support: • Prepare thank-you messages, donor updates, and impact summaries • Organize fundraising records, donor contact lists, and tracking spreadsheets • Assist in maintaining organized digital and physical filing systems for fundraising documentation

Research & Development: • Research community grants, corporate giving programs, and partnership opportunities • Summarize key eligibility criteria and timelines in clear, usable formats • Support drafting foundational content for funding proposals (organizational background, program descriptions, etc.)

Event & Campaign Support: • Assist in planning logistics for small fundraising events, raffles, or community appreciation activities • Help prepare event materials, volunteer schedules, signage, and check-in tools • Support set-up and on-site roles, such as greeting guests or capturing photos

Communications & Marketing Assistance: • Create simple visuals, flyers, or updates using Canva • Help organize content for fundraising-related social media posts • Collect program stories, photos, and participant feedback to help showcase impact

Stewardship & Community Relations: • Update and maintain lists of community supporters and partners • Assist in preparing follow-up messages and general outreach communications • Track outreach progress and prepare short summaries for internal reports

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, community engagement, or marketing
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple small tasks
• Ability to work collaboratively and take initiative
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and AI digital tools
• Creative, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive information
