Care Masters Youth Cooking Workshops
Build Practical Skills and Confidence in the Kitchen
Want your teen or young adult to build confidence in the kitchen and learn practical cooking skills they can use at home and in everyday life?
Care Masters Women & Family Services offers free, hands-on Cooking Workshops for youth ages 13-21 across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), including Peel Region.
Through interactive, in-person workshops, participants will learn how to prepare simple, nutritious and culturally relevant meals, practice kitchen and food safety, and plan meals on a budget.
The workshops help youth build practical skills, confidence and greater independence in the kitchen while cooking alongside other youth.
Participants can register for one or multiple workshops based on their interests and availability. Attendance at every session is not required.
Who Can Participate?
The workshops are open to youth ages 13-21 from across the GTA, including Peel Region.
No previous cooking experience is required, and youth do not need to have participated in another Care Masters program.

What Youth Will Learn
During the hands-on Cooking Workshops, participants will learn and practice:
• Kitchen and food safety
• Basic food preparation skills, including chopping, measuring and seasoning
• Preparing simple, nutritious meals
• Meal planning and preparation
• Preparing meals while working within a budget
• Making informed choices when grocery shopping
• Exploring culturally relevant foods and recipes

Is the program only for youth living in Peel Region?
No. Youth ages 13-21 from across the GTA are welcome to participate, including youth living in Peel Region.
Is there a cost to participate?
No. The Cooking Workshops are free.
Do participants have to attend every workshop?
No. Participants can register for individual workshop dates based on their interests and availability.
Does my teen or young adult need cooking experience?
No. Previous cooking experience is not required. The workshops help participants develop practical skills and become more confident in the kitchen.
Do participants need to have participated in another Care Masters program?
No. Previous participation in Care Masters programs is not required.

When are the Cooking Workshops?
The Fall 2026 workshops take place on October 21; November 11, 18 and 25; and December 9. All sessions run from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
