Join Our Team: Tutors Needed for Youth Development Program

Are you passionate about education and ready to make a difference in the lives of youth? We’re hiring tutors for our upcoming Youth Development Program in the Erin Mills/South Common neighborhood of Peel.
About the Program
This exciting initiative is designed to empower up to 24 youth, helping them build stronger social, emotional, and leadership skills. Through mentorship and academic support, you’ll play a key role in helping participants reach their full potential.
Tutor Responsibilities
As a tutor, you will:
  • Provide academic support in Science, Math, and Language.
  • Assist with homework and create a positive, engaging learning environment.
  • Facilitate one 2-hour session per week for 15 weeks.

What We’re Looking For
We are seeking tutors who:
  • Have expertise in one or more core subjects: Science, Math, and Language.
  • Are committed to fostering learning and growth in youth.
  • Can reliably commit to the 15-week program.

Compensation
Tutors will be paid $25/hour for each 2-hour weekly session.

Join Our Youth Mentorship Program: Inspire the Next Generation

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of Black youth? We’re seeking men and women with skills, life experiences, career insights, or inspiring stories to share with youth aged 12-17 in our upcoming mentorship program.

Your influence could be life-changing, offering guidance and empowerment to young people seeking positive role models and direction in their lives.

As a mentor, you'll have the opportunity to speak to a group of up to 20 youth in Mississauga—or join us online if in-person participation isn’t possible. The program runs weekly from March to June, with additional chances to connect during the summer for fun and engaging experiences.

Program Details:
  • Commitment: One session, lasting 1-2 hours.
  • Format: Share your knowledge and insights with the group in a single impactful session.
  • Opportunities: 12 mentorship spots are available.

For High School Students
Looking to complete your mandatory volunteer hours in a fun, supportive space? We’ve got you covered!

About the Opportunity:
  • Programs: Help bring joy to kids and families through our Black Family Fun Night program, running September–December and March–June.
  • Leadership in Training (LIT) Program: All teen volunteers join our LIT program, where you’ll gain mentoring experience, creative skills, and confidence in leadership roles.
  • Summer Volunteering: Support our recreational and art-based camps, or assist with our new childminding programming.
  • Extra Learning: Gain valuable life skills like money management, teamwork, and employment readiness, all while being mentored by positive Black role models.

For Adults and Community Volunteers
Whether you’re an experienced caregiver, an educator, or someone looking to give back in a meaningful way, we welcome adult volunteers who align with our mission of empowering youth and families.

How You Can Contribute:

  • Program Support: Help with facilitation, setup, and engagement at our family events and children’s programs.
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Share your experience, mentor youth, and provide guidance during our programs.
  • Special Projects: Offer your unique talents—whether it’s arts and crafts, music, organizing, cooking, or admin support, there’s a place for you.
