Black Family Fun Night
Black Family Fun Night is more than just a recreation program—it's a cornerstone for community building and cultural connection for Black children and their families. Designed to create a safe, inclusive space, BFFN invites children aged 5-12 to engage in a blend of recreational sports, imaginative arts, and social skill-building activities. Each event is a celebration of play and learning, offering young participants a range of experiences that foster creativity and camaraderie.
Expanding beyond just fun and games, BFFN also nurtures future leaders through our Leadership in Training (LIT) component. Youth volunteers, some of whom have been with us for over two years, find their voices and develop essential leadership skills as they mentor younger attendees. These young leaders are integral to the program’s success, exemplifying the values of mentorship and responsibility, and proving that every child not only has a place to play but also a path to grow as influential community members. When: October 7th - Dec 16th (First session) March 17th - June 2nd, 2025 (Second session) Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Mondays Location: McKinnon Public School Please click the button below to pre-register. |
SoloMama Sanctuary
SoloMama Sanctuary aims to be more than just a program; it's a safe haven for single mothers in our community, offering the support and strength they need to thrive. It’s a nurturing and protective space where single mothers find solidarity, support, and a wealth of resources to help them navigate the complexities of parenting solo. Our Sanctuary offers access to experts in parenting, family court navigation, child welfare, and education. We provide practical support with housing and economic assistance, food relief, children's clothing swaps, and donations. Beyond these, we ensure mothers have free access to mental wellness programming, family passes for community events, and local excursions, all designed to foster resilience, connection, and holistic growth for every mother and child in our circle.
HIGHLIGHTS Over the years, we have heard firsthand the struggles of single parents and the immense burden of providing for their families amidst rising grocery costs due to inflation. In 2023, Care Masters provided our Sisters with $1675 in groceries and in 2024 we aim to provide much more! |

Quotes from two recent S.E.P.P participants and Micro Grant awardees:
I wanted to thank Care Masters, Women and Family Services and the CIBC Foundation for their financial assistance which is enabling me to take one step closer to achieving my goals. Participating in the SEPP program was a fantastic experience and I really enjoyed all the guest speakers who presented. I took tons of notes and was able to use this information to help find resources in the community that could help scale my business. This micro grant will enable me to contact a vendor who will create the patterns, samples and production of my first line of custom dog clothes. I appreciate all the encouragement I received from yourself and everyone participating in Care Master’s SEPP program since it helped me set and stay on track with my goals. By remaining accountable to the group, I was able to work on my feelings of imposter syndrome which were previously holding me back from beginning my side hustle. Since beginning the SEPP program, I have found vendors, sourced fabric and identified designers who can help take the ideas out of my head by creating a tangible product. I am very grateful for having had the opportunity to participate in the SEPP program and have already spread the word in my network to have others join the program. Thank you again for believing in my vision and for awarding me the micro grant. I look forward to sharing pictures of the finished products soon!

I am deeply grateful for the supportive and enriching experience I've had through SEPP - Sisters Economically Prospering Program, as part of the inaugural cohort.
Care Masters' commitment to excellence is evident in every aspect of the program, providing me with the tools and knowledge to pitch, research and network with likeminded others. I also extend my gratitute to CIBC, for your financial support which has made a tangible difference, allowing me and others to fund key areas that continue to move the needle towards launching. One of the most rewarding aspects has been the relationships I've built with fellow participants and mentors. The network I've gained through Care Masters has been invaluable, providing ongoing support and collaborative opportunities. Thank you CIBC for your commitment to empowering Care Masters in their goals to support communities and individuals like me. Brenda A - RentMatch Toronto |
